Underground Gala Gala

As the name, Gala-Gala Underground House Nusa Lembongan is a cave tour destination while you are in Nusa Lembongan Island.

The location of Gala-Gala Underground House is about 50 meters from the highway on the island of Nusa Lembongan, so after parking a motorcycle or car, then you have to walk into this Gala-Gala Underground House Nusa Lembongan location. From Bali, you can take a speedboat from Sanur Beach. The trip takes 30 minutes to arrive at Mushroom Bay dock. From Mushroom Bay, the trip to Underground  Gala-Gala only takes about 6 minutes or about 1.5 km away.

From the outside, nothing at all looks unique to this cave because of its location which is indeed underground. Upon entering the cave complex, you will see several Balinese houses with various Balinese cloth displays, especially the typical Nusa Penida Island in Bali, so you can also casually shop at this spot.

To go to the location of the Gala-Gala Underground House, there are 3 (three) entrances that you can choose to go down to the cave. The height of the stairs to get to the entrance is about 2 meters and we can enter the main entrance to the cave under the ground.

The uniqueness of the Gala-Gala Underground House Nusa Lembongan is in the process of building this cave which only uses the traditional equipment with the traditional methods. The topsoil which is limestone is destroyed uniquely but is proven to be able to make amazing dredging.

All of that is used by a mixture of cow dung which is burned and then used to soften the limestone so that it is easy to dig and make certain shapes. In some spots of this cave, the height of the door and roof of the cave is only around 1 to 2 meters, so you also have to duck down to avoid collisions in the head

Because it’s in the ground, you don’t have to think that Gala-Gala Underground House Nusa Lembongan doesn’t have good air circulation because even when you are in this house, the air feels cool even you down the narrow hallways of the house.

Because it is functioned as a residence by the owner of the house, so parts of this house are like a house in general. There is a living room, bedroom, kitchen, dining room, and even a meditation room. In a room shaped like an elephant, there are carvings on the wall. Gala-Gala Underground House deserves to be said as a spectacular masterpiece that must be preserved.
